What Materials Do I Need for a Backyard Cage?

🧰 Building a backyard batting cage doesn’t have to be complicated — but having the right materials makes all the difference.

Here’s a basic materials list for most backyard builds:

  • 🪵 Frame: Steel poles, wood posts, or PVC pipe
  • 🧵 Netting: UV-treated net (usually #36 or #42 gauge)
  • ⚙️ Connectors: Corner elbows, brackets, or pole caps
  • 📌 Anchors: Ground stakes, auger anchors, or concrete (if permanent)
  • 🟩 Turf (optional): For safety and a pro look
  • 💡 Lights (optional): For evening use
